Award Recognizes Organization’s Commitment to Education

WASHINGTON, DC (October 23, 2017) – Navigate Affordable Housing Partners, a Birmingham-based affordable housing provider, today announced it would be presented with the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA) Educational Foundation’s Inspiration Award in recognition of its work promoting educational opportunities for affordable housing employees and residents.

“We are honored to receive the Inspiration Award from the NAHMA Educational Foundation,” said Navigate CEO Eric Strong. “Navigate is committed to advancing educational opportunities for our employees, tenants, managers and others in the affordable housing industry. We look forward to continuing to work with NAHMA and its Educational Foundation to increase opportunities for and improve the lives of those in affordable housing.”

Established in 1994, the NAHMA Educational Foundation aims to increase access to education for residents and employees of affordable housing communities. This year, the Foundation provided $325,000 in scholarships to 130 constituents. The program has distributed more than $1.25 million in scholarships to more than 500 recipients to date.

“Navigate is a key partner in our efforts to develop the next generation through education,” said Melissa Fish-Crane, Chair of the NAHMA Educational Foundation. “We are proud to work with Navigate and appreciate their continued support of the Foundation and its mission.”

Navigate has supported the Foundation since its inception, when it provided a seed endowment. Earlier this year, Navigate contributed another $250,000 to the program.

The Foundation will present Navigate with the Inspiration Award this evening in Washington, DC, during the Foundation’s Annual Benefit Event – Inspire Gala.
